This is very good news indeed. As a resident of Austria, I can say the Austrian government has behaved appallingly in regard to covid measures. Hopefully the country can now get back to the free and welcoming place it used to be.

One year on from this, USA no longer requires the test, but is still one of the only countries in the world to require vaccination for entry. Come on USA, you are dragging your feet. Get with the program.

I actually welcome this, albeit rather cautiously. As you say, it is unlikely that we will see through trains from London to Germany, but through ticketing is likely to improve. I am reserving judgement until we see the fares.

Well, it is nice to see that the UK is now fully unrestricted throughout.

Several people I know in England have reported that masks are quite a rare sight these days, but I’m not sure if people in other parts of the UK are wearing them voluntarily.

Honestly, I am tired of waiting for Austria to get its act together. I live there, but will not be returning until everything is fully back to normal.

All around Europe, countries are finally seeing sense and accepting that we have to live with this virus. I don’t know why Austria has to insist on dragging its feet.

Indeed, it is good to see that the whole of the UK has now joined the mask free world.

I am in the process of compiling a list of all mask free countries, which will be posted in the Travel News section shortly.

    Welcome to Rebel Flying, Stefan.

I think the restrictions are definitely discouraging people from travelling. This is causing a lot of damage to the travel industry.

Indeed. Unfortunately I can’t see this requirement being dropped any time soon.

I agree. Given that there is now no legal requirement in England, there is no excuse for airlines not to take this step, at least on domestic flights.
