Following the row with P&O Ferries over its recent employment debacle in the Queens Speech today the government promised to bring forward a Harbours (Seafarers’ Remuneration) Bill to give British ports powers to refuse ferry services that do not pay their crews the national minimum wage.
Mind you I think the loss of goodwill P&O Ferries have got over this will outweigh any savings they have made.
(Worth remembering of course that P&O Ferries and P&O Cruises have different ownership)
